Origin: Bihar, Eastern India
Ritualistic painting on paper/cloth. Brahmin
and Kayastha womenfolk, traditionally, hangs these
paintings on doorways and walls on festive occasions
like marriage, feast days and sacred ceremonies.
Till today, this tradition of women, painting
this form of art, remains. The paintings are usually
based on stories from Ramayana and Mahabharata
